02/08/2018: SCRWC monthly meeting
We welcome Ann Streit…
Ann is a wife, the mother of two and grandmother of three. She has been active in a variety of local political campaigns as well as educational and issue-driven organizations. Winding down her career in the public school system as a Speech/Language Pathologist, she began fielding questions about the newest education reform: Common Core Standards. As she began to investigate, she found herself more and more alarmed at what has amounted to the deliberate dumbing down of America’s children. This search for truth in education led her to become a volunteer with the Truth in Textbooks Project which trains citizen
activists to review textbooks for factual errors, slant, and bias. Today, she spends much of her time sounding the alarm against the effort to transform our schools from institutes of education to indoctrination factories.

Lt. Col. Roy White, a former teacher, a 20-year veteran fighter pilot of the US Air Force, and successful commercial pilot from San Antonio, TX joins us for a discussion of a grassroots movement to maintain accuracy in our country’s educational textbooks.
You will not want to miss Roy passionately speak to our Nation’s failure to meet civic obligations to young minds entering adulthood in our great country. Roy and his associates have developed a program which enlists the help of all concerned citizens to review and report inaccuracies directly to the textbook’s publisher!
